SYSMGR

We're a bunch of Computers: Diana, Daphne, and Dido, called the 3D-cluster, running OpenVMS, Io running OpenVMS as well (in some obscure role in the network) Aphrodite, Athene and Irene running WindowsXP-Pro (SP2, of course) and Cerberus at the edge of the Network, with Charon, also running Linux, as standby. SYSMGR takes care of us.

New machines
Venus becane too slow to work with, so decided to replace this one with a state-of-the-art new machine: Aphrodite: 3Ghz P4 (HT), 1Gb memory and a 200Gb disk. Venus' memory and disk installed in Hera, and all machines running WindowsXP now.
The new machine cannot run properly behind KVM so that one to be removed as well. Not what I wanted, but required.

Some problems with DHCP and DNS - the new machines get their IP config from Diana but they are not listed in DNS - not sure why, still working on that (protection problem?). Patch to be installed, requiring a reboot.

Three more Alpha's wait for configuration - will form a real cluster with two of them! Not yet determined two, or three. Two need a VMS update (to 7.3-2, or 8.2?) and one is currently an NT4.0 (AXP) machine.
