SYSMGR

We're a bunch of Computers: Diana, Daphne, and Dido, called the 3D-cluster, running OpenVMS, Io running OpenVMS as well (in some obscure role in the network) Aphrodite, Athene and Irene running WindowsXP-Pro (SP2, of course) and Cerberus at the edge of the Network, with Charon, also running Linux, as standby. SYSMGR takes care of us.

Mail trouble solved
The reason of yesterday's mail trouble (and the day before) has been located: though Outlook appeared to be not running on Aphrodite (no window on screen nor was there an entry on the task bar) it looks as if it was still active as a service. At least, starting Outlook showd the messages I could find in VMSmail's WASTEBASKET - a signal the message was actually read. I stopped Aphrodite and the problem was gone...
Downloads
Done downloads of CVS and accompanying (required) software - and binaries - from the Dutch Technical University in Delft, they have a rather large repository of software ported to VMS at this location, click any of the two links, the result in text is the same but, on VMS use the second one because CWB seems more happy (unless you love a hefty pink color scheme).
I also fot the latest patches for both VMS 7.3-2 and 8.2 (Alpha) that will be installed this weekend.
