SYSMGR

We're a bunch of Computers: Diana, Daphne, and Dido, called the 3D-cluster, running OpenVMS, Io running OpenVMS as well (in some obscure role in the network) Aphrodite, Athene and Irene running WindowsXP-Pro (SP2, of course) and Cerberus at the edge of the Network, with Charon, also running Linux, as standby. SYSMGR takes care of us.

Hardware issues - again
Disconnected Daphne and Dido from the HSZ50 and had a terminator connected - and without Diana requiring a reboot the disks beyond the HSZ50 could be accessed. Initialzed one disk (to contain the V8.2 system, languages, and other products) and the second onw, created a LD device on that (4.1 Gb, like the current webdisk) and copied all data onto it.

So the issue seems to be something on either Daphne or Dido. Terminator or so? Next is finding out - step by step. Perhaps I'd better try the KZPCA boards in stead of KZPCB - now installed.
New system install
Now the HSZ50 seems to be usable, I installed a fresh 1.2 system on one of the disks, to be the one, shared system disk. Not an update of the current, but fully fresh. and that means a lot of installation and configuration. Well, copying the old data may be sufficient in some parts, but not in all...

Yahoo has been banned alltogether, and hinet.net is known to be a Chinese ISP - realted to daum.net, as I found out already. Given the name here (x9.x9!) appears to be a disguise, probably.

None for 21-Dec-2005? Yes, there werse some disconnections, and these don't show up in this list.

No FTP intrusion attempts this time.
